Once again we will be sponsoring a visit into Philadelphia to minister to our neighbors in need. We have already experienced some very cool temps and the year has just begun (yikes, it's 11 degrees as I write this!). So please plan on spreading the word. This will be our 24th year of helping to serve those folks we call homeless. They are much more than a label, they are our fellow humans that could use a kind word, eye to eye recognition, an uplifting conversation especially on a Valentine weekend.and perhaps a warm cup of chili and change of winter clothes.

This activity will be held on February 10th at 15th and Market streets just West of City Hall in Philadelphia, at 10:30AM.

What to bring: Warm winter clothing, please NO children's clothing, women's clothing or light weight items. What we are looking for is very specific and other items become a burden to dispose of afterwords.

Needed Items: Warm socks, wool caps, gloves size mens large and up, jeans or warm pants men size 32-50 waist, (NO dress clothes please!), shoes and boots size mens 9-13, warm sweatshirts or pull overs, jackets, sweaters and coats men sizes large and up, toiletry items packed in zip lock bags, school size backpacks (other carrying bags can work), also blankets are a sought out items!

We will need someone to prepare 4 gals of chili. and a means to keep it warm. Someone to bring hot coffee in an insulated container about 2 gals, cream and sugar packets would be great as well. Someone to bring insulated cups two sizes one for coffee, 10oz. and one for the chili 16oz about 50 for coffee and 70 for chile Someone to bring spoons, napkins and trash bags. Hedy will be responsible for bringing the bag lunches her 5th graders are already looking forward to making them!

This activity is for those 8th grade through Young Adult however a few seasoned adults will be needed for transportation and supervision.

Please call me text or email me before Feb 7th so we can make sure the needed items are covered or if you have questions. Also I would like to know approximately how many of our folks are attending.

Street parking on Market street works best, although there are parking lots available in the area.

Sincerely,

Greg Ardito
